The Pedersens Update

Hi guys. What a great idea! It'll be nice to hear how extended family members are doing. The Pedersen family is well. We put our house in Omaha up for sale last week. Tyler is almost done with residency. He'll finish in June. He'll start working in Laramie in July. Sydney, 5 3/4 years old, is enjoying kindergarten. She loves to read, color, and play videogames. Charlotte has entered the Truly Terrible Threes. With that said, she can also turn it on when she wants to. She loves to learn and has become VERY talkative. Her new belief is that anytime someone kisses, then they are married. So, when she gives me a kiss, she'll say "now we are married." So far our attempts to correct her have not worked. :) Isaac is 9 months old. He has 5 teeth and bald. He is clapping, crawling, pulling up things, cruising, and getting into EVERYTHING. He sucks his thumb and eats any string, hair, paper, or sock he can find. He loves trying new foods. He is such a happy baby. I am enjoying motherhood. My kids keep me on my toes. I also spend a lot of my time running HOAA's playgroup (HOAA is a resident spouse association), taking care of our primary (I'm the secretary), and reading.
Love, Angie

Hi Angie,

This past fall Eliza tried-out for the Lone Peak basketball team. She was not very confident in making the team because it was a combination team from Mountain Ridge and Alpine's new Jr. High.

She made the Mt. Ridge 9th grade team and got some good playing time, but when she mentioned that she was Angie Bartholomew's cousin, things seemed to go better with the coaches. The assistant coach this year played on the Soph team when you were a senior, so she remembered you and Eliza was so excited to make the Soph. Team.

She started all of the games and played up on the JV team almost every game. During one game, Eliza was playing really tight defense waving her arms all over a girl and really giving her a hard time. The girl dribbled the ball off her foot as a result. I was sitting behind our varsity coaches who were watching the game and one leaned over to the other and said "Yeah, I guess she has a little Bartholomew in her." It was funny. So Eliza sees herself as a defensive specialist now.

Way to go Eliza! Defense was my favorite part of the game. Her experience took me down memory lane... Thanks for sharing it with me. :) I looked online to see who the coaches were this year and there's only one name I recognize... Angie Webb (who is an awesome basketball player and a very positive person.) I assume that's who knew me. How's Eliza's team doing this year?
